As the days get brighter, and the weather warmer, we tend to notice that our homes could do with a little bit of love.
But did you know that a Spring clean or gardening could do your well-being just as much good?
Whether you find traditional exercise tough or simply just can’t find the time, spending 20 minutes cleaning your home can help raise your heartbeat, get in those all-important daily steps, and increase your time standing…all very beneficial to your body.
Gardening is something quite special.
Even tending to plants in your home has been proven to help your mental health, but if you can get outside and close to the earth, you not only boost your Vitamin D exposure (remember to wear sun cream) and help your movement, and flexibility and headspace.
Even though house and garden work may not seem like much, you’d be surprised how your body can feel when it’s done.
To avoid straining yourself and to get all the benefits, it’s best to do just a few simple stretches before and after. For example, if you have been gardening and bending over or crouching for a while and have a stiff back you can stretch out by laying on the sofa while letting one leg drop over the edge.
If you’d like to know more about easy exercises, simple stretches and which ones suit you best, please don’t hesitate to contact me or make an appointment. And remember, as well as your treatments, you can receive a free personalised worksheet to help you even further.
